Regional Dispatch Centers[edit]

AMR has multiple local and regional communications centers nationwide. In Missouri, there are two: Independence and St. Louis.

AMR Independence Communications Center[edit]

AMR Independence Communications Center serves multiple bases in Kansas and Western Missouri (including Independence, Southern Platte County, Mission/Johnson County, KS, and Linn County, KS). Additionally they provide dispatch services under contract for Intercity Fire Protection District of Blue Summit, MO.

Abbott EMS St. Louis Communications Center[edit]

Abbott EMS Communications Center serves bases in Eastern Missouri and Western Illinois. Abbott EMS is a subsidiary of AMR.

Mission/Johnson County[edit]

Several hospitals and skilled nursing facilities in Johnson County contract with AMR for interfacility transports. All local emergency medical calls are handled by Johnson County Med-Act. AMR's Johnson County base is located in Mission, KS.

Shawnee and Wabaunsee Counties[edit]

AMR of Topeka is the primary ground ambulance service for all emergency and non-emergency transports in Shawnee and Wabaunsee Counties. Bases are located in Topeka, Alma, and Eskridge.

Dispatch operations note: In March of 2017, dispatching of the Shawnee/Wabaunsee County AMR units was relocated from Independence, MO to the Shawnee County Emergency Communications Center due to service contract changes.
